Writing Prompt, January 4, 2013

I took this picture in early December, thinking how really plain and uninteresting these wreaths looked when they weren't on someone's door, festooned with bows and other decorations.

For today's writing prompt, think about things that look bland in one context and exciting in another. For instance, an empty house vs a lived-in one; a dead python vs a live python (scary!); an empty hospital room before or after someone's been there.

Write about the contrast between the two situations and how that contrast affects your characters.
